About the Artist:

About the Artist: I believe it can be wonderful to follow your curiosities and passions wherever they may take you. Art has always been an undercurrent in my life but only a recent professional endevor.

I studied English Literature and Spanish as an undergraduate and then went on to earn a Masters degree in Environmental Horticulture. I worked as a Biological Scientist at the University of Florida for nearly a decade working and managing a Soil and Water Science lab and later became an ISA Certified Arborist while doing Research on Urban Trees. During this time my colleagues and I worked to write, photograph and publish two Florida Tree Identification books.

My Partner and I then decided to become parents and we moved to Southwest Virginia while he returned to school and I chose to make parenting my full-time job. After nearly four years we moved to Durham North Carolina and after settling and making it through the Pandemic’s most uncertain years I began my work making mosaic art. Through this medium I have let my life observations, experience and passions for the natural world find their way out of me. I truly and deeply love making this art and hope that this expression brings beauty to peoples lives and helps them see the magic all around us.

Thank you for taking the time to look and/or purchase my work!
